Venue At the School
Time Usually evenings. Confidential meetings, which last from two to three hours, are held once each half term. Various sub committees meet as and when required. An AGM is held to which parents are invited
Who for?

Enquiries from men and women over the age of 18 years with no criminal record, who have an interest in education would be very welcome.

Six Foundation Governors: -

People with a Christian ethos are accepted by the Diocese to act as a governor subject to their enquiries.

Two should have children at the school when they start their four-year term of office.

Others should represent a Cranham Village organization or have close connections with the Village.

Other Governors: -

Representatives from the County and Parish Council, a Parent, a Teacher, the Head Teacher and the Vicar

Responsibilities

To serve a four-year term of office

To attend courses run and funded by the LEA

To attend meetings. (Employers are legally required, within reason, to give employees time off to attend such meetings)

To ensure that the School is run  efficiently and effectively

To ensure that standards are maintained/improved

To oversee the Curriculum

To appoint the Head Teacher and assist with the appointment of other staff

To agree budgets and School priorities.

To fund 10% of the costs of any maintenance and building work, due to the School's Voluntary Aided status. Assistance is sought by way of fund raising, donations and bequests etc.
