Taken
from the postcards...
From Betty Sue (wiggle) Durr
New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
I am writing asking for prayers for another from the Wiggle Blood
line. Her name is Lisa Coleman and she is my granddaughter. She
was in a horrible car accident on February 6, 2004 and is in the
intersive care unit at the hospital nearby. She has multipy injuries
and two of the other teens in the car have died. Please keep Lisa
and us in your prayers.
Thank You.

Trevor
(the postie) Parsons
By lunchtime today I had received £117 for Trevor, who retired from
the Royal Mail last Friday. I have sent him a card with the names
of all contributors inserted along with a cheque.
There will be some who haven't contributed because they don't get
this email, don't go in to the Post Office or didn't hear about
it. I will put a note in the next Village Mag explaining what's
been done and offering to be the co-ordinator for any other contributions.
If any reader missed the collection and wants to join in they can
contact me.

Cranham
Village Choir
The Christmas and New Year hang-overs are well gone (only to be
replaced with others!) and members of the Choir are well into exercising
their vocal chords on Tuesday evenings.
For those who came to the Christmas Carols on 21 December, the collection
was £150, which the Orchestra, Choir and Handbell Ringers sent to
the Pied Piper Appeal at Gloucester Hospital.
Thanks a lot.
So what are we doing this Spring?
Well, the main event will be a folk song based evening 'Springing
into Summer' on 24 April. . Part of this will be 'The
Sprig of Thyme' a set of 11 English Folk Songs from the Keel Row
to the Miller of Dee arranged by John Rutter and Bavarian Highlands
by Elgar based on German Folk songs. There will be a folk singer
from Sheepscombe (Hugh Tarrant) and a group of Appalachian Dancers
from mountains of err… Stroud to entertain us (well air fares are
a bit high and they are very good!)
Before that, on April 3rd in the afternoon, we'll be hosting
a 'Come and Sing' performance of Faure's Requiem which some
of us 'tried out' in Gloucester Cathedral in the autumn of last
year. Great fun, even though it has a sombre title!
Do come along. New members are always very welcome and we’ve only
had a couple of weeks at the new pieces. Why not try it out next
Tuesday? Village Hall - 7.30pm.
