Cranham Nature Pages

Nature all around us.

Go to the new recent sightings page for an update on what's happening out there.

I know that it has been cold over the last few weeks. Apparently the pigeon pictured just fell out of the sky. We guess it froze to death; does anyone have any other ideas?

For the moment we will call it David B. the pigeon who fell to earth.

Nature's Little miracle dates are as far as I can remember! Please correct me and add more

February - Snowdrops appear

March - Bluebells in the woods

March/ April - wide selection of wild orchids on the common

Second Bank Holiday in May - Cowslips in full bloom

Mid October - woods start to turn to Autumn colours

Up until a few weeks ago things were very quite.

Most of Cranham and its wildlife seemed to be huddled up out of the cold.

As the snowdrops appear and the birds start singing. More reports are coming in. Some are fascinating and a little disturbing!
